Some people are too stupid to read before attacking. The "gray horse" was well posted about on the RO board. After two weeks of colic, I would hardly call her death surprising. rescuesonly.proboards59.com/index.cgi?board=rip&action=display&thread=7935&page=1One of the others was well past 25 years old with a lifetime worth of old injuries from the track that made it impossible to keep him comfortable, and the other had cancer. Wow. What controversy! What a discovery! Oh, look at the drama! Get a life.

RO is only accessible by those who support Dean -
So, PEC supporters - what's the 'story'?

Nope - not if you've been banned.
Never even posted a thing there.

I just read the thread, thank you for providing that Dingo. Dean is obviously quite involved in the case based on the number of posts she made. What is she doing with a new horse on her property? I thought she's not allowed to take on any new horses without court approval? Here is information from the Merck manual on cecal impactions, which is what I gathered was the suspected cause of colic: www.merckvetmanual.com/mvm/index.jsp?cfile=htm/bc/22004.htmThe Merck Veterinary Manual -Cecum and Large Intestine I can understand why the horse was opened up after passing away. What was the cause of death determined to be? It sounds like she died on her own. Did she rupture? Thanks in advance for filling us in on the rest of the story.

This is from May 5, 2008 Conditions of Release hearing for Dean Solomon. I am confused about how she got around #1. This gray horse seemed to be "under the defendant's care/control." Perhaps invoked #3?
1. A cap of 33 total horses under the defendant's care/control on all properties (this is the current number she has) 2. Allow Animal Control and Code Enforcement unfettered access to her property and rental properties to inspect conditions and horses 3. Should an "emergency" rescue become necessary where the defendant feels she "needs" to save a horse, she must give notice to the State before acquiring the horse 4. Follow all city and county code regulations 5. Provide proof to the State of pasture seeding 6. Provide proof to the state of feed purchases 7. Provide proof of veterinary and Ferrier care of horses upon request

The 'opening' of the board occurred after I was banned (and subsequently deleted the link) so I was unaware of the change (as I'm sure are many others).
*goes back into primarily lurking until there is real news.

As far as calling people "Stupid", I think it is "Stupid" to defend a well know hoarder, your source of the "Truth" is the hoarder them self. Wow genius!

The underlying reason for impaction of the cecum is unknown, although it has been speculated that cecal muscular activity is abnormal in affected horses.
The prognosis associated with impactions involving the large colon is excellent, with a survival rate of >95%.
In contrast, the survival rate associated with cecal impactions remains 50-55%, which may reflect the poor prognosis associated with cecal impactions that develop in hospitalized horses.

I hardly thought it was necessary to cite the very article that this whole entire thread is about. Otherwise each of us would have to cite her on each and every post in this thread. One would think that when a thread is dedicated to the topic of an article that people would have gone to read the article and it's accompanying texts before presuming to post on the thread.

Yet you call people stupid, because they did not read a thread posted on the RO Board that you feel explained the condition of the dead gray horse. Based on whose observation....Dean? Oh brother
