Post by THANK YOU PATRICIA on Apr 29, 2008 12:02:31 GMT -8
i have stayed off most of the internet sites/blogs/etc regarding PEC because i have been on the front lines of the case for quite a while and know the truthful scoop a little too well. reading the lies, fabrications and the ignorance keeps me up at night. however, i must comment that i am amazed that not more credit/kudos are given to patricia of serenity rescue. i have stood by this brave woman thru this whole thing and i think she deserves some sort of animal welfare award. patricia has been threatened, harassed, been left for broke and broken down physically and emotionally BUT NEVER ONCE backed down to getting justice for the PEC horses or any others.
i have watched TWO other rescues take credit for changes at PEC but do either of them have TWENTY TWO PEC horses?? i dont think so. patricia should be hailed as a hero in this whole thing...
now, having said that, it has also been the philosophy of SERR to stay off the computer and be extremely hands on...but just in case people dont know it because patricia would never say it herself, patricia/SERR is the true hero here...
thanks for listening

Hopefully after the news airs this evening on KING-5 TV at 11pm, Patricia and Serenity will finally get the recognition they deserve for their part in this rescue. It is shameful that Jenny Edwards/ Hope for Horses went on the news to take credit for this last week.

I agree - what do you want to bet that Hope for Horses got a lot of donations as a result of that story? Donations that were earmarked for the PEC horses and should have gone to SERR.
Hope for Horses did something similar with the recent Elledge case - I think she got just as much media coverage as SAFE did, even though HFH was not at all involved in that case.
What is the other rescue that is taking credit for the PEC charges?

You need to call King 5 News and make sure the correct credit goes to the correct rescue. The story is running tonight, a reporter named Linda is covering it. HFH is already under some heat from a different rescue case and they are not even in the area/county.
Hopefully Dean's remaining horses have a good, safe place to go.

I read where Patricia is quoted in the press saying she is down to her last credit card and donations are not coming in.
Why didn't she take up PEC's offer of tons of hay? I was told by an AC Officer that was there during the conversation that PEC offered to continue to supply hay to the horses. What's up with that?
Patricia has 30 horses on ten acres and no money. Sounds like a great rescue to me. Rescues that depend on donations only should not be rescues!

Hey Old Nelly if you could please find the quote from Patricia to verify your post that would be great. Since you are all about rumor control I am sure that if there were a way for Deannie Beanie to help pay for the feed of her horses she could. She could donate the hay to AC and they could arrange to get it Patrica. Funny that she didn't want to feed them when she had them. Oh yeah.... I forgot it's all a big conspiracy.

Did Patricia let loose on the tidbit that one of the euth'ed horses who was deformed and all was from her own breeding stud? so odd to me... she'd be such a vocal rescuer and on the side she is breeding 'the rare black arab'... oh well, free country... how does she feed her own horses?

Patricia has made no secret of the relationship between her horse and the euthanized horse. This factored into her decision to cease breeding Arabians. She is finding homes for those horses to focus on rescue. If only more rescues would come to this realization (Hytyme, etc).
She is retired but has a job. It is typical when a rescue is involved in a seizure or surrender, that the media attention attracts donations. That has been minimal in this case.
In my opinion Jenny Edward's interviews with the media have likely confused people as to which rescue took these horses in. Jenny Edwards called animal control as did several other respectable horsemen. I would be very impressed if Hope for Horses ponied up any donations they collected for the horses they did not take in...
I can't say for certain why Serenity didn't take Dean's hay. But I am well aware of Dean's 'generosity'. I believe she means well, maybe doesn't realize it consciously, but her gifts extract a level of indebtedness from the receivers.

Dean never had any hay. If she did she would have fed the horses when she had them.
I once paid Dean for hay to feed my horse when it was in QT at her place. On the second day when I went to see the horse I noticed that it had not been fed nor had there been any hay on the property. As a result I had to go buy my own hay (after I had already paid her for it) and keep it in the trunk of my car...driving out there twice a day to make sure it had water and food. Then when I took the horse Dean was pissed - she wanted me to keep boarding it here.
What a joke, Dean. I hope you had fun at the Casino with my money.
